Margret Hoppe
DE (*1981) ist Fotografin und lebt in Leipzig. Sie interessiert sich für Geschichte, die in Räumen und Architekturen sichtbar wird. Ihr Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Architektur der Moderne. Das Projekt Reflective Architecture entwickelte sie erstmals für Le Corbusiers Mill Owners’ Association Building in Ahmedabad im Jahr 2016. Dort fand die erste Ausstellung mit Elsa Grégoire und Sebastian Stumpf statt. Für den ehemaligen Bowlingtreff Leipzig erarbeitet sie nun mit den beiden Künstlern neue ortsspezifische Werke, die in einer virtuellen Ausstellung zu sehen sind.
EN (*1981) is a photographer living in Leipzig. In her work she engages with history’s visual manifestation in interiors and architectural compounds, with a focus on modernist architecture. An initiative of Hoppe’s, Reflective Architecture was first developed in 2016 in relation to Le Corbusier's Mill Owner's Association building in Ahmedabad, where the initial exhibition with artists Elsa Grégoire and Sebastian Stumpf took place. For the project’s current installment she has been working with both these artists on works related to Leipzig’s former bowling alley, now on view online as a virtual show.

Der planvollen Gestaltung architektonischer Räume begegnet er mit unvorhergesehenen Interventionen, die auf Leerstellen und Übergangsmöglichkeiten zielen. Sie arbeitet mit der Stimme so, wie ein Instrumentalist mit den Instrumenten – manchmal konzentriert sie sich nur auf den Klang, manchmal nur auf die Wörter. Elsas Beitrag zu dieser Neuauflage von Reflective Architecture ist ein Stück für Stimme, Field Recordings und Percussion – die perkussiven Elemente sind ausschließlich im Bowlingtreff Leipzig aufgenommene Elemente.

She approaches voice the way an instrumentalist would an instrument, at times focusing on the sound aspect alone, at others purely on verbal utterances. Elsa’s contribution to this new edition of Reflective Architecture consists of a music piece for voice, field recordings and percussion, with the latter made out of elements recorded entirely on site at Leipzig’s Bowlingtreff.

Seit 2017 leitet sie den Kreativ-Raum Offenes Atelier Grünau. Mit Margret Hoppe und Elsa Grégoire arbeitete sie bereits in mehreren Projekten zusammen, unter anderem gestaltete sie den Katalog und das Plakat für Reflective Architecture in Ahmedabad im Jahr 2016.
